My name is Gary Allen
(Lumpkins) Mullins.
I was
born and raised in Kimball, McDowell County, WV. Attended Welch High
School, the class of '63. After graduation I joined the USAF, traveling
the world over, thanks to Uncle Sam.
Upon
discharge I moved to Atlanta, GA and attended Georgia State University.
Living in the Atlanta area ever since.
I am the son of Herbert Arnold Mullins & Bernice Louise Odham
Mullins Lumpkins and the step-son of Robert Lewis Lumpkins.
Up until
January of 1998, I had been searching for my father and any relatives on
the Mullins side of my TREE.
I
have now found my father! (deceased 2002)
He lived
in Jr. Poca, a section of Welch, WV. He was married to Victoria Brezinski
Bartrom. He had two children from this marriage, Shirley Mullins
Honosky (deceased 2002) and Herbert
Arnold Mullins, Jr. At the time that I found him, he was denying
that he was my father. But, in the eyes of the LAW since his name
is on my birth certificate,
HE
IS MY FATHER!
I guess
I shouldn't expect any different. Until his other two children found
out about the information on my web page, they never knew who their grandparents
were, nor did they know that they had an Uncle & Aunt.
My father
is still denying that he has a Mother & Father(stating that he was
orphaned) and that he does not know any of his relatives. It was
told to my by my living relatives(who lived at Bottom Creek - next door
to his parents) that he was raised by Mary Allen(biological mother) &
Edward Mullins(a preacher). As far as Edward being his father, this
is unknown, but Mary is his mother. Therefore, Lonnie & Ruby
Mullins would be his half-brother & half-sister.
I was
given the middle name of Allen, because it was thought that my father was
not a Mullins and that his real last name would have been his mother's
maiden name.
The
only thing that I have to say about my father is:
When
the time comes for us to meet our maker, I will not have to answer for
the
lies
that I have told, nor the deceit that I have woven. My heart,
mind & soul are clean
